A study about Etna

 

INTRODUCTION

The most active volcano in Europe
Called by Sicilians“La Montagna”,(the Mountain) par excellence, the volcano Etna, is located 30 km from Catania, in eastern Sicily.

The fauna of the Etna Park boasts:


REPTILES : geckos; wall tarantula, lizard, rat snake, common viper

BIRDS:  sparrow hawk , buzzard, golden eagle, barn owl.


MAMMALS : black rat and the porcupine,  fox,rabbit , wild cat .
