THE GREATEST CELEBRITY AMONG NUMBERS

INTRODUCTION

Hi Maths lovers. This project is about the number that appears to be one of the most important in the mathematical world. Yes, you are right!!
This number is "Pi". We are going to have a great journey along the geometry, theory of numbers and also probability, to find the number "Pi".

Let's get started!!

TASK

You will discover the great importance of number "Pi" and you will be able to find the approximation of "Pi" in various ways. You are going to be working in groups, developing competencies like: organizing your own work, sharing tasks within group members, discussing your results and evaluating final achievements. Last but not least, by reading and listening materials attached to your tasks, you will improve the vocabulary connected to the topic.

PROCESS

STEP 1: 

1. What is the number  "Pi"?
2. How can you approximate the "Pi"? Give one example. (WORKSHEET file pages 1-2)
   

STEP 2: Once the questions have been answered, watch the film.

After watching the film click the EXPERMIENT 1 button down below and complete the task. 

STEP 3.   Do you remember what GCD stands for? If not, go HERE. Now, click the EXPERIMENT 2 button and complete a given task.

STEP 4.   This time you will see how the partial sum of the infinite series can generate the "Pi". Click the EXPERIMENT 3 button and complete the task.
