THE WEBQUEST
INTRODUCTION
A lot remains to be done in the area of gender equality.
You will work in a group of 3 or 4.
You work for a charity organisation which is currently planning budget allocation for the next 5 years. They are convinced of the importance of women empowerment but they need to decide which country and which issue in particular should be addressed.
You need to present your project and convince the pannel that you should be allocated the funds to carry it out.
TASK
You will make a slide presentation about a country where women empowerment is lacking and focus on two or three areas that need improving. You will suggest practical ways of initiating these improvements. Your presentation should include details about:
PROCESS
You will be assigned to a group of 3.
You will decide on the country you will focus on. You should use the National Geographic report on the best and worst countries for women as one of your sources.
You will identify the areas you want to improve.
You will watch a TED talk by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, first woman president of an African country, about bringing about changes in Liberia. Other sources are also recommended in the grid below.
You will devise a strategy to implement changes in your chosen areas.
