Webquest

Introduction

1. You are about to do a webquest. What do you think is the subject? Have a look at the picture underneath and brainstorm with your partner. Do not spoil the fun by scrolling down!!!!

 

 

2. Write down the words you already know. Look up any unknown words and write them down in your vocabulary list.

 

3. You have a penpal in the Netherlands - a country that might partially be flooded in the future because one third of the country lies below sea level.You want to help him. In order to do so you first need to understand:

 

- what the reasons for climate change are

- why the Netherlands are in danger of being flooded ín the future

- what your own impact is

- what your personal possibilities are and 

- what politics can do

a) Watch the video underneath and fill in the gaps.

 

b) Explain the following image to your partner. Use the words from your vocabulary list.

 

 

5. In order to find out what your personal impact on the climate is you need to check your carbon footprint. Press the button footprint and find out what the carbon footprint is. Afterwards press the button calculate footprint to calculate your own carbon footprint.

 

6. Discuss with your partner what you can do to reduze your footprint. You can check the following website to get some more ideas if you like. Press the button ideas.

 

7. Now you already have a great number of ideas to help your penpal. However, in order to make an even bigger change you need many people to work together. Therefore you want to create a political party and win the upcoming elections. Have a look at the following examples of political flyers to get some ideas for your own flyer by pressing the button political flyers examples.

8. Spin the wheel and form groups of four.
