Factors and multiples

Many things happen over and over again in a fixed cycle. For example, a morning news program may have a traffic report every 7 minutes. A train may arrive at a particular station every 12 minutes or a clok may soun every 15 minutes. Can you think of anything else that happens in a fixed cycled?

Thinking about common factors and common multiples can help you solve such problems.

In this unit you will learn what multiples and factors are and how to calculate the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) and the Least Common Multiple (LCM)
