Introduction

Today young people in Western countries are less politically active than they used to be in the second half of the last century. The following lesson aims to analyze if that is true and what motivates young people to be politically active by comparing the political systems in:

   ITALY      

 GERMANY   

LITHUANIA

 

Task

 

This webquest will lead you through the tasks how to produce a presentation concerning The Political Motivation in this topic. You should go through all task levels by scrolling down.

  1. Informing about the topic with the ressources
  2. Discussing, arguing, working together in groups
  3. Evaluating videos and working on your own and in groups
  4. Using webtools for presenting
  5. Presenting the group solutions

 

Process

STEP 1

First you should be assigned to a team of 3 to 4 people. Each group has to work at computers with internet connection.

STEP 2

Work on the following assignments:

  1. Read the resources and compare the political systems in the three different countries according to the these criteria
    • voting age
    • candidate age
    • party membership
    • political influence on local politics
  2. Discuss why it is important to be politically active.
  3. Find motives for engaging in the community and local politics

STEP 3

Make a presentation on the questions in step 2.
