YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT

 2 hour CLIL: Healthy food.

Firts session (1 hour)

First of all we will do a motivation activity. I will bring to class two bags with different food, one with fruits (orange, banana, apple, kiwi, pear and grapes) and vegetables ( tomato, onion, carrot, beans, lettuce, peas and cucumber)an other bag with sweets( chocolate, lolly pop, donut and a cake). We will talk about the situation and which one of those bags contains food that is good for us. Then we will watch a video that explains which food is better for our bodies. I will give a file with the name of the aliment and a picture of it to let the students make a relation between picture and name.

After that video we will start a brainstorming activity asking them some questions like:

- Which bag do you think is healthier?

- What kind of aliments should you eat?

- How many times a week do you eat fruits and vegetables?

- Do you know some illness derivated of the incorrect alimentation?

Session 2 (1 hour)

With all the information that we studied in the last session, and a small text that I will give to the pupils, they will have to complete the alimentation pyramid. Each group of four will have to complete a section.

Then they will have to explain why they have put these aliments in that specific section of the pyramid and how many times we have to eat them.

After that, I will give a file with a characteristics healthy meals that they can eat every day.

To conclude the session they will have to think and explain a healthy menu writting the 5 principal meals of a day.
