Introduction to the atom

In Chemistry, we think about the world on a much more scale than you can see wity your eyes. In this 2h CLIL lesson we will introduce the basic concepts to understand atoms and elements, tiny particles that make up our world.

1. Firstly, you must watch carefully the next video and try to write the most important concepts about atoms explained in it. You will watch one of the biggest ideas in chemistry ever - stuff is made from atoms. More specifically, we learn about the properties of the nucleus and why they are important to defining what an atom actually is.

2. In this first activity, Test-N-Teach, you can check if we have understood the main concepts. You will hear some words and you must try to spell them, and with the help of your classmate think about a possible definition for them.

3. Complete the second activity, Quizlet. Here, you have the same concepts explained in the previous exercise with their definitions. With them, you can compare if you were not wrong.

4. Finally, the video presented below is a proposal to summarize this introduction, in a more fun way. It would be interesting to write the lyrics to practice all what has been learned.
