REPORTS



Concepts

This module presents the last type of object in LO Base; the reports (informes). The reports allow to set up (configurar) how to print in paper the information from a table or query

Making a new report



LO Base can create new reports automatically only using a report wizard (un asistente de informes). But once created the report can be edited, and modified manually






The following image shows a report created using the report wizard





EXERCISE 1

The first step is to select a data source, that is the table or query from which the data to print will be taken out.



Next step is to tag (etiquetar) the fields. That is, for each field, write a headline (títular, cabecera, o texto explicativo de lo que es el campo) for each field in the report.



Now select the fields used to group the information. In this exercise we want to show for each author, all the books he has written. So we group by the field Autors, as shown below


Next step, we must select the fields used to order the report. By default, the report is ordered by the grouped fields.





Next step is to select a predefined design for the report.



EXERCISE 2. Make a report for the table categories.

EXERCISE 4. Make a report for the table clientes



Making a report using a query as data source

EXERCISE 5

Now we are going to create a query to show the books written in a given language. Make this query following the instructions shown in the image below. Notice that the criteria in the row “criteri” in the column Llengua is a question mark ('?')







Call this report exercise 5 and click in the button finalitzar.

Open the report. A windows open asking for a code of language. Insert 'cat'



Click on d'acord to see the final result.





Exercise 6 Make a report for the table empleados showing grouping o rders per employee (los pedidos agrupados, por empleado que los atiende), for employees working in Seattle or Vancouber. You must group the orders by the surnames of the employee.

 

EXERCISE 7 Make a report showing products grouped from suppliers belonging to the states WA, CA, NY, or MD The report must show the records products grouped by idproveedor. The subreport must show the fields product id, product name and supplier city and state
