Introduction to functions

In this first lesson, as a introduction to functions, we will debate about what do you know previously them and what applications to real life would you expect of them. It takes 10 minutes

-To do that, in the first place join in groups of 2-3 people and try to give the function's definition. Write your definitions in the wiki of class. It takes a maximum of 20 minutes.

-In the second place, let's make a list with the function's vocabulary you know. After that this vocabulary will be completed and explained by the teacher. Write the vocabulary in the wiki, too. It takes a maximum of 20 minutes.

-In the next place, it's time to learn some English grammar. Let's learn "to be", "have got" and "present simple".

PRESENT SIMPLE: It is used to express things generally true (for functions properties, for example). Click on the second tab called "Present Simple" to learn more about this verb.

Click on "Exercises" to practice all this.

All this should take no more than 20 minutes.

-Next, click on the next tab called "Video" and watch it carefully. The teacher will stop the video at some points, when he/she considers it necessary. After that, do the exercises doing click on "Final crossword". It takes a maximum of 40 minutes.

-Finally, let's do the brainstorming. You will debate about what do you think functions are useful for in real life. Imagination! It takes a maximum of 10 minutes.

Students will have homework for the next day: make a concept map with all the vocabulary of functions well connected.
