Introducing Internet

Stage 1:

In groups of 4, imagine that you have to explain how Internet works to one of your friends. You should start, writing down the concepts that this person needs to know, because they will be the key words you are going to use. Do you need to explain some extra concepts? Or on the contrary, there won't be any problem to catch the meaning. Then try to prepare a drawing which summarizes the technical structure of our concept. Finally write down simple sentences that relate the terminology and the drawing you have done. In pairs, explain what you have prepared. Is it clear? Do you all agree with each explanation? Can you improve the explanation of your partner?

Now go back to the same problem, but with a different target audience. You have to explain what the Internet is and how it works to your little brother or sister. Consider that although surely he or she also knows what is the concept and uses it, this person will have much less knowledge to understand a fairly serious explanation.

Finally, in the same group of four, face the challenge of imagining an explanation about Internet and how it works, for an elderly person as it could be one of your grandparents, who are not familiar with it or who doesn't know how to use it.

Stage 2:

Now watch the videolink provided and observe how a simple and clear introduction to Internet could be performed.

Afterwards, do the activity and the crossword.

Finally, with the help of what you learnt with them, in groups of 4 again, try to prepare a simple presentation, similar to the one which appears in the video, to introduce in an easy way, what is internet and how it works.
