What is recycling?

*Recycling is a process by which something that has already been used, it becomes a new thing. When you recycle, you help save energy and resources and reduce pollution.

Many types of materials can be recycled such as: paper, plastic, glass, metal, textiles or batteries.

The recycling process starts when you separate the materials can be recycled in different *containers.

The materials that are segregated are then collected by the recycling company or a collection program in your community.

The materials are taken to a recycling plant where they are separated into types and grades.

Later, the machines create different products with the materials.

New products are ready for sale and are carried to the shops.

The 3 R's:

*Reduce: you can reduce the amount of waste you create by choosing what rubbish you throw away.

*Reuse: is when you use some items for different purposes.

*Recycle: break a product or material to create a new one.

Benefits of recycling:

- Save the *environment a little more.

- Cut fewer tress.

- Use less water and energy.
