Even before a team starts the actual work, the achievement of goals, teamwork must be encouraged. It must be constantly improved in order to achieve success. But how can I design teamwork well or improve it permanently? Here are some tips and tricks to know so that you can improve yourself and your performance.

Define structures and processes

Every collaboration needs clear rules, and so does a team. Everyone needs to know who has what authority, who is the contact person in which task area, who makes which decisions. Roles, responsibilities and competencies must be clear.

Promote equal communication

Everyone should have the same opportunity to express themselves. Only when a team communicates optimally with each other can it work successfully. Above all, team members should listen to each other. Constructive criticism is an important part of a team. It should be seen as appreciation.

Improve collaboration with digital tools

Chat and video tools can be used for easier sharing. Traditional email communication quickly becomes chaotic. Project management software can possibly be used in addition. This will make teamwork even more efficient. Ideally, all team results are also backed up in a cloud, so everyone from the team is up to date at all times.

Constant work on the team

There is also always work to be done on collaboration, the exchange of ideas and mutual acceptance. Here, success factors should be defined that are important in the team. Through their regular evaluation (e.g. "radar method" according to Helmut Clemm), it is possible to develop further.

Common goals and decisions

Each individual in the team should see the goal as his or her own. Only the common will makes common goals. Decisions must be made and supported together.

Encourage motivation

Teams are more successful when their members are proud to belong. Trust is built by team members getting to know each other better. This helps to create a stronger sense of "we". More cohesion motivates better work performance.

Challenging tasks for everyone

It is important that every employee is given tasks that push him or her to the limit. You can only develop further with challenges.

Living a good culture of mistakes and feedback

Every employee must be allowed to make mistakes. This is the only way to gain experience. Good feedback can support the team member here. It must be clear to everyone how to give feedback correctly. This is the only way that everyone involved can benefit from it and continue to develop.

IMPORTANT:
As we can see, there are numerous starting points for improving and developing teamwork. In any case, teamwork means constantly working on and in the team. Because this is the only way to achieve better and better performance.
